Plato Monitor
PLATO MONITOR is a variant of SONATEC and allows measuring original gravity of beer in the brewing process.

ProDetec supplies inline extract measurement solutions for Australia’s breweries and beer-based beverage producers. Our instruments continuously monitor real and apparent extract through fermentation, filtration and pre-packaging, so you can replace manual sampling with accurate, process-integrated data. Extract measurement is a core brewing quality parameter.Â
Real extract reflects the residual dissolved solids left after fermentation, apparent extract tracks attenuation, and both values feed straight into ABV calculations, recipe adjustment and excise compliance reporting, something an offline extract brewing calculator can’t deliver at production speed.
ProDetec’s primary extract measurement instruments are the Centec Beer Monitor, which simultaneously measures alcohol, real extract, and automatically calculates original gravity inline, and the Centec Plato Monitor, a dedicated sound velocity sensor for original gravity and extract monitoring during filtration and front-of-filler stages. Both serve as continuous inline extract calculator solutions that eliminate the delays and inconsistencies of periodic laboratory analysis.
With over 22 years of experience and local engineering support across Australia, ProDetec supplies, commissions and supports the full Centec extract measurement range for breweries of every size.

To determine 3 crucial components of beer production: OG, extract and alcohol
The Centec Beer Monitor is a specific variant of the CombiTec which combines the functionality of both the RhoTec (density measurement) and SonaTec(sound velocity measurement).
Using the density and sound velocity properties of each liquid, the correlation between those 2 properties and concentration are defined by a mathematical polynomial. With decades of experience and our own laboratory facilities, Centec has developed polynomials for a large number of products. Any temperature drifts of the measured signal are automatically compensated for by an internal Pt1000 sensor.
The Beer Monitor is designed for those applications which require maximum sensitivity at the highest accuracy. It is easy to operate and maintenance-free.
