Description
Technical Description – AquaScat S
The AquaScat measures the turbidity of potable water according to IEC 27027, with the measurement carried out through multiple process connection options such as immersion tube into tank or vessel, via your flanges into pipes (metal or PE), or into the sides of tanks. There is also a retractable option which allows the AquaScat S to be withdrawn for CIP and maintenance.
A Closer Look
Ease of Maintenance
Calibration is done with a checking unit that has no consumables which enable the operator to return the instrument calibration to factory calibration.
Sigrist uses an inorganic, extremely low expansion, non-porous Lithium Aluminium Silicon oxide glass ceramic characterized by evenly distributed nano-crystals within a residual glass phase. It is designed and manufactured to exacting Sigrist specifications to provide:
- Excellent homogeneity throughout the total volume.
- Very low level of inclusions and internal stress deformations
- Precision shapes
- Extremely smooth polished surface (< 1 nm roughness)
- Excellent long term chemical stability
Control System Integration
The Sigrist AquaScat S provides easy integration into your control system. A range of output signals are available for your efficient communication with your equipment.
1: The Basic sensor can provide 1 analogue and 2 digital outputs
2: Using the Conn-R allows for:
1 x analogue and 2 x digital outputs
Push-button and LED info to perform re-calibration
3: The SICON (or SICON-M for multiple instruments) with colour touchscreen operator panel includes:
- 8 x 4-20mA outputs
- 7 x Digital outputs
- 5 x Digital Inputs
- Modbus TCP
- Modbus RTU
- Profibus DP
- HART
4: The WLAN module allows for communication via the web

The control unit SICON uses state-of-the-art touch screen technology with colour display. It allows simple operation using logical menu guidance. The user can select how results are displayed, either as plain values, graphs or historical data, including the indication of system and alarm status.
The control unit SICON offers all possibilities of full system integration using various interface options. A SD card is standard and can be used for data logging with almost unlimited storage capacity.
The SICON is available as a control unit for a single instrument, or the SICON M Control Unit which allows simple operation of several instruments up to a maximum of 8 measuring channels.
