A Closer Look

The BactoSense allows the determination of total microbial cell count (TCC) or intact cell count (ICC). With one BactoSense these two different tests are possible thanks to different cartridges. The cartridge can be used for up to 1,000 measurements and is replenished through a recycling program with ProDetec. Replacing the cartridge is as simple as replacing the ink cartridge on a printer. The entire program sequence – from sampling, adding reagent, mixing and incubation all the way through to measurement and cleaning – is carried out quickly and is fully automated. The measuring results are available after just 23 minutes.

The manual sampling processing steps can be bypassed if the system is connected online to your preferred sampling location. This will check the bacterial profile of your water 24/7 at an interval of your choice (minimum sample rate is 30minutes). This is the most cost-effective way to detect a bacterial event when it happens, and not waiting for your routine Lab check The BactoSense is your online watchdog to alert you to the need of an urgent Lab test.

The BactoSense is a compact flow cytometer which takes up little space and detects more than 99% of the bacterial cells. All operating materials (including waste material) are contained in a hermetically sealed, recyclable cartridge. There is no requirement for your operators to be in contact with the waste or chemicals.

This flow cytometer can be operated manually or automatically. An internal database allows all measured data to be reviewed and visualized across the entire measuring period. The results can be transmitted in analog or digital form, for example via mA, USB or web interface.
