Description
Technical Description – OxySteam
The Centec OxySteam has been developed as a system for regulating the steam used for degassing continuously, which can reduce steam losses by up to 95 %. The process monitors the O2 content of the exhaust vapor. The exhaust valve is then controlled via a programmable logic controller (PLC) to only discharge steam when necessary for the effective and efficient control of the degassing process. To reduce the steam loss, vapor condensers are sometimes used alternative, normally within the fresh make-up feed water used as the cooling medium. However this only works while there is a requirement for additional cold make-up water. Since this only occurs intermittently, the vapor cannot be condensed or used a lot of the time.
