TurbiGuard

The brewing, wine, sugar and beverage industries have the Sigrist TurbiGuard specifically designed for monitoring medium to high turbidity, in hygienic process liquids. The TurbiGuard measures turbidity using the absorption method and is typically mounted inline using a Varivent connection. The focus of the TurbiGuard is for easy installation and extremely low maintenance. There are no seals to replace and the calibration only requires a zero setting.

Technical Description – TurbiGuard

In-line Turbidity for Food and Beverage with Medium to High Turbidity

The brewing, wine, sugar and beverage industries have the Sigrist TurbiGuard specifically for monitoring medium to high turbidity, in hygienic process liquids. The TurbiGuard measures turbidity using the absorption method and is typically mounted inline using a Varivent connection. The focus of the TurbiGuard is for easy installation and extremely low maintenance. There are no seals to replace and the calibration only requires a zero setting.

A Closer Look

Not having to perform the regular replacement of seals will save you considerable time and money. The seal-less design with sapphire windows is a well-established feature of Sigrist products. This allows the TurbiGuard to be to be used in many process applications for turbidity measurement.

The TurbiGuard is factory calibrated with a true, linearized Formazine calibration. From the time you take delivery, only a zero check is required to confirm its calibration.

For simple applications and system integration the instrument configuration and communication can be easily done using the serial interface in combination with the existing outputs. For a local operator interface the optional control unit SICON with touch screen technology and colour display can be connected.

Typical Applications Include:

  • Turbidity measurement in beer, fruit juices, drinks etc.
  • Monitoring of centrifuges, separators, whirlpools
  • Monitoring for breakthrough
  • Yeast dosing

The control unit SICON uses state-of-the-art touch screen technology with colour display. It allows simple operation using logical menu guidance. The user can select how results are displayed, either as plain values, graphs or historical data, including the indication of system and alarm status.

The control unit SICON offers all possibilities of full system integration using various interface options. A SD card is standard and can be used for data logging with almost unlimited storage capacity.

The SICON is available as a control unit for a single instrument, or the SICON M Control Unit which allows simple operation of several instruments up to a maximum of 8 measuring channels.
