Plato Monitor
PLATO MONITOR is a variant of SONATEC and allows measuring original gravity of beer in the brewing process.

ProDetec supplies inline Plato measurement solutions for Australia’s breweries and beer-based beverage producers, providing continuous, real-time monitoring of original gravity in degrees Plato directly in the process, from wort production through fermentation, filtration, and pre-filler verification. °Plato is the brewing industry’s standard unit for the sugar content of wort and the residual extract of beer. Accurate Plato beer measurement at every stage of production keeps fermentation under control, recipes consistent and ABV calculations right, and it’s needed for excise compliance.
ProDetec’s dedicated Plato monitor for brewing applications is the Centec Plato Monitor, a high-precision variant of the Centec SonaTec sound velocity sensor, engineered specifically for continuous original gravity measurement in the brewing process. Deployed typically during beer filtration and in front of the filler, the Centec Plato monitor continuously measures sound velocity and converts it to °Plato using Centec’s proven polynomial library, delivering the accuracy and process integration that manual sampling and benchtop Plato measurement methods cannot match at scale.
With over 22 years of experience and local engineering support across Australia, ProDetec supplies, commissions, and supports the Centec Plato Monitor for breweries of all sizes.
