GNExS1 Alarm Horn Sounder 117dB(A)

The flameproof GNExS1 alarm sounder is suitable for Zone 1 & Zone 2 applications – certified to ATEX and IECEx. Sound level outputs up to 117dB(A) at 1 metre with a choice of 64 alarm tones and 4 remotely selectable stages.
The alarm tone frequencies for the first 2 stages are independently selectable. The GNEx range features enclosures manufactured from GRP (glass reinforced polyester), moulded in natural red, but also available in other colours.
The re-entrant flare horn is high impact, fire retardant ABS. All models contain dual cable entries, large termination areas containing in & out terminals and an ingress protection of IP66/67. The AC voltage model has a range of 100-260vac & dc – suitable for 110Vdc gas detection systems. SIL1 compliant to IEC61508 (2010) as standard.

SONF1-HO High Output Alarm Horn Sounder

The SONF1-HO is a compact, high output, 105dB(A) alarm sounder. Low current consumption and high SPL in a robust fire retardant housing ensures suitability for all general signalling applications including fire, security and process control.

Sonora range offers compact audio visual signaling for fire, industrial, process control and machine safety applications. The range features low current consumption combined with high performance. The SONF1-HO features a maximum output of 105dB(A) at 1 metre with a current consumption of just 80mA. CPR compliant, tested to EN54-3 ad VdS approved.

The SONF1 is a compact, high output, 100dB(A) alarm sounder. Low current consumption and high SPL in a robust fire retardant housing ensure it is suitable for general signalling applications including fire, security and process control.

Sonora range offers compact audio visual signaling for fire, industrial, process control and machine safety applications. The range features low current consumption combined with high performance. The SONF1 is available with two levels of sound level output and is CPR compliant (tested to EN54-3) for fire alarm use. Approved by VdS and UL.

SON2 Alarm Sounder

The SON2 is a compact, high output, 104dB(A) alarm sounder. Low current consumption and high SPL in a robust fire retardant housing ensure the SON2 is suitable for all general signalling applications including fire, security and process control.

The SON2 features 32 alarm tone frequencies and a total of 3 remotely selectable alarm stages/channels. The wire to base termination simplifies installation and provides duplicated terminals. The compact sounder is automatically synchronised.

ML25F PA Horn Loudspeaker

The ML25F 25W PA loudspeaker is suitable for harsh environments with high ambient noise levels.

The ML25F features IP66 & IP67 (Type 4/4X) enclosures and re-entrant flare horns manufactured from high impact, fire retardant ABS. All models have dual cable entries and large termination areas containing in & out terminals.
Available with 70 and 100V line transformers or in 8 or 16 Ohm low impedance versions.

MCBX05X05 Dual Xenon Strobe Beacon

The MCBX05X05 is a dual 5 Joule Xenon strobe beacon featuring a robust, fire retardant, IP66 & IP67 enclosure. The two Xenon beacon circuits can be connected to operate from the same power source or individually.

The 1 Hz flash rate is automatically synchronised between the beacons or can be set to ‘flip-flop’ mode to create an alternate flash. The ‘M’ series of products have been designed to withstand the harshest of environments. Constructed from lightweight, impact and fire resistant ABS, the range features stainless steel, ratchet adjustable mounting brackets and has been third party tested to IP66/67.

L101X Xenon Beacon

The L101X is a compact, robust 5 Joule Xenon strobe beacon ideal for all general signalling applications including fire, security and process control. CPR compliant – tested to EN54-23.

CPR compliant, approved to EN54-23:2010 for use in fire alarm systems, the L101X also carries GOST approval and cULs approval for general signalling. Featuring an automatically synchronised flash rate of 1Hz (60 flashes per minute) as standard, the DC voltage versions also have user selectable 1.5Hz (90 flashes per minute) and double-strike flash rates.

K-SML05-10-15 Motor Driven Sirens

The E2S range of motor driven sirens offer the traditional “air raid” type warning signal designed to give effective warning over wide areas. The powerful low frequency sound is ideal for covering long distances and is instantly recognisable.

The simple, rugged design is low maintenance and offers the lowest cost solution to disaster warning applications such as COMAH (SEVESO II) toxic gas alarms, flood and tsunami warning, security alert, civil defence, tornado and bad weather alert.

IS-L101L LED Beacon

The IS-L101L unit is an intrinsically safe field mounting beacon which provides a bright flashing warning signal.

The unit can be used independently or combined with an IS-A105N 49 alarm sounder. Combination units can utilise a common zener barrier or galvanic isolator and may be coupled together or mounted seperately.
With the IS-A105N the alarm accept function can be utilised. By closing a pair of external contacts (i.e push switch) the operator may silence the alarm for set periods between 5 seconds and 2 hours. If after the preset time the alarm condition still exists the sounder will activate again.

Australian Standards & Compliance

Alarm sounders, beacons, and notification systems installed in classified hazardous areas in Australia must comply with the following standards:

AS/NZS 60079.14 — Installation of electrical equipment in explosive atmospheres. Specifies requirements for the selection, installation, and initial inspection of Ex equipment, including signalling devices, in classified hazardous areas.

AS/NZS 60079.17 — Inspection and maintenance of electrical installations in explosive atmospheres. Specifies inspection intervals and maintenance requirements for Ex-rated equipment.

IEC 61508 / IEC 61511 — Functional safety standards governing Safety Integrity Level (SIL) requirements. Where a notification system forms part of a Safety Instrumented Function (SIF), the sounder or beacon must meet the SIL rating of that function. E2S BExS110 sounders are SIL 1 and SIL 2 Route 2H compliant as standard.

EN 54-3 / EN 54-23 — European standards for fire alarm sounders and visual alarm devices, adopted as the basis for fire notification system compliance in Australian installations. E2S sounders are EN54-3 tested; combination units are EN54-23 tested.

National Standard for the Control of Major Hazard Facilities (MHF Standard) — Requires major hazard facilities to maintain effective emergency notification systems capable of alerting all personnel on site and, where relevant, the surrounding community. The E2S A141 wide-area siren is specifically designed for MHF emergency notification applications.

Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation — Places a duty on operators to ensure that alarm systems are suitable for the hazardous environment in which they are installed, properly maintained, and capable of alerting all personnel at risk.

What makes an alarm sounder "explosion proof" or "flameproof"?

A flameproof (Ex d) sounder contains any internal ignition within its enclosure. IECEx and ATEX certification confirms it meets this standard for the declared zone and gas/dust group.

Do I need SIL-rated sounders?

If the notification system forms part of a Safety Instrumented Function (SIF) — for example, as the final alarm element in a gas detection safety loop — the SIL rating of the sounder must meet or exceed the SIL requirement of that function. What sound level do I need for my application?

It depends on ambient noise levels and coverage area. ProDetec’s engineers can assist with acoustic coverage calculations to ensure the specified sounder is audible across your site with appropriate safety margins

Can E2S sounders be used for both gas and fire alarm applications?

Yes. The BExS110 and BExS120 are EN54-3 tested for fire alarm applications and are equally suited to gas detection notification. Multi-stage programming allows different tones for different alarm types.
